    Whether it is your first time in a canoe or kayak or you are an experienced padddler, Tickner's will give you the information you need to have a great experience. Guests with their own boats are welcome to launch free of charge at Tickner's. Just sign in at the shop.

    Tickner's will help you plan the perfect outing for your group. We can make arrangements for a picnic lunch for your group to have along the way. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the fun moments.

  • North Branch of the Moose River

    Go with the flow down the North Branch of the Moose River. Pristine Adirondack scenery surrounds you as you float down this winding river. Small sandy beaches dot the banks and are ideal for picnicking and swimming. Wildlife such as deer, beaver, otter and Great Blue Herons are frequently spotted.

River & Rail

Paddle the Middle Branch of the Moose River from Tickner’s dock in Old Forge to their private whistle stop along the historic Adirondack Scenic Railroad. Yes, you and your boat travel back to town via this vintage train.

Hourly and Daily Rentals

Spend as little as an hour or as much as the whole day exploring the lazy Moose River from Tickner’s dock. The current is so mild in the following sections that it is easy to paddle out and back to Indian Rapids or Whispering Falls.
