A brief paddle up the Middle Branch from Tickner's dock will bring you to this shallow, rocky start of the flow from the Fulton Chain of Lakes at the Covered Bridge.
This scenic old wooden spillway marks the half-way point and provides a place to stretch your legs, picnic, swim or take a short hike.
This picturesque "rock garden" is nestled on the North Branch of the Moose River and requires a bit more commitment to find and reach as you approach the swifter water at its base. Your efforts will be rewarded by its beauty. A small beach pull out marks the short trail along the rapids. A great spot for lunch and a swim or just to sit and reflect in the Adirondacks.
Tickner's has free delivery and pick-up on daily rentals to Old Forge Pond. Be prepared for bigger water, motor-boats and typically some wind when paddling the Chain of Lakes.
Tickner's opens daily at 8:30 a.m. during the summer season and closes at 6:00 p.m. (Spring and Fall hours/days may vary.) Tickner's will put you out on the water at any time, provided you plan upon a return before their closing.
* All rentals include paddles and life jackets (12 and under must wear).
We DO NOT rent for whitewater!
