Rondaxe Road Bridge - 6-Hour Trip

For an entire day on the river, the more energetic paddler can put in above the North Street Bridge and extend that trip another four miles, totaling approximately 12 miles. Please keep in mind that beginners and children usually find this trip a bit too tiring.

"Go with the flow" down the North Branch of the Moose River. Pristine Adirondack scenery surrounds you as you float down this winding river. Small sandy beaches dot the banks and are ideal for picnicking and swimming. Wildlife such as deer, beaver, otter and Great Blue Herons are frequently spotted along the shores.

Tickner's van will shuttle you and the boats to the put-in. Bring your own or rent from us. Then enjoy a quiet paddle as you head downstream approximately 12-miles to Tickner's dock on the Middle Branch of the Moose River. About 5/6ths into the trip, a portage of around 300 yards on a well-marked trail is required around Indian Rapids. (We have portaging wheels available for those interested.) Not long after the small rock garden, the North Branch of the Moose meets the Middle Branch of the Moose where you'll end your journey at Tickner's dock. Most of our customers spend about 6 hours enjoying the trip, but please keep in mind that beginners and children usually find this trip a bit too tiring.

Reservations are a good idea as the drive to the put-in ties up a Tickner's driver for a good amount of time and must be worked in around other reservations. Tickner's opens daily at 8:30 a.m. during the summer season and closes at 6:00 p.m. We like you at Tickner's at least 7 hours before closing so that we can make sure you make it back to our shop before we close. Just give us a call to let us know what time you are interested in going and have your credit card ready so that we can hold the boats of your choice and a starting time for you. (Spring and Fall hours/days may vary.)
